David Caesar was born and lives in Guelph, Ontario. He was exposed to art through comic books, high art through Calvin and Hobbes, and through his father, who was a high school art teacher in their home town. Fortunate enough to have parents who encouraged his artistic leanings, David went on to graduate from the Interpretive Illustration program at Sheridan College in Oakville. In 2000, he decided against becoming a commercial illustrator and moved back to his birthplace in 2005. He has since won numerous awards for his work, has had well-received individual and group shows and enjoys teaching classes at the Guelph School of Art.
